ABOUT ALPHA SERIES

The car is raised and lowered in elevators of the Alpha series using a counterweight and a system of ropes or belts. The elevator car's position is tracked by the Alpha series control system, which also controls speed and makes sure the doors open and close correctly. In order to protect passengers in the event of a malfunction, elevators of the Alpha series are outfitted with a number of safety features, such as emergency brakes, overspeed governors, safety buffers, and automatic/emergency rescue devices (ARD/ERD).
